The final post of 2017 on AMS!!! Can y’all even believe another year has come and left? I can’t! I have two “new year” posts. One thats my resolutions and what to expect for 2018, and one that’s a little recap of 2017. So I thought we would start with the recap today to ring in the new year!
2017 has been so good to me. It was steady as I like to call it. No huge life changes happened. I feel like this was the first year where I just felt like my mind and heart were at ease. Every year brings many obstacles and high points. But this year, life was steady. Something I hope will continue in the new year.
From January-May:
In January I started to really see an income coming from my blog. This was a huge moment for me as my blog is my ultimate passion. Never did I ever imagine I could even monetize this platform when I first started and seeing it become a job is something I smile about every day. The Spring was pretty busy and went by fast. Josh and I went to New Orleans, I had my sorority formal, and tried to take advantage of some “college parties” before I totally grandma’d out like I did this Fall haha. Spring of 2017 was peaceful and fun.
From June-August:
One tough summer. Josh and I were long distance and I lived in Lubbock with my roomie for the summer slaving away at work, interning, and taking classes. My roommate and I were just talking the other day about how we don’t even understand how we survived through our schedules haha. But that time we got to spend together was so memorable and rewarding knowing we finished such a tough summer. We also took a fun trip to Marfa, Texas which was a blast.
From September-December:
The Fall was happy. I got hired at the PR agency I interned at, I had some fun classes that I genuinely enjoyed going too and I spent the semester working, lounging at home, and going to school. Pretty boring….but, it was the best. My closest friends all turned 21, Josh and I traveled to Taos, NM, and I wrapped up the last semester being on exec for my sorority.
As we ring in the new year, I can’t help but feel so thankful for 2017. It was a GOOD year. I learned a lot about myself and how to just sit back and relax. I’m learning to enjoy every season of life (I used to just want to rush it all) and I’m so thankful for all the memories 2017 brought. I’m also so thankful for all of you that read my blog. It’s a blessing to me to have such a supportive community that reads my blog on a daily/weekly basis. I will forever cherish that. See y’all in the New Year! 😉
