As lame or cheesy as this may be…. each year on June 3rd I dedicate a blog post to celebrating my “blogiversary” (AKA my blog anniversary…. the day I started my blog). I actually forgot about this last year so I COULDN’T forget this year. Check out my 1st year post here.
Four years ago I was a little 18 year old girl who had the ultimate drive and passion to start a creative outlet. I had a youtube channel for 3 years but I wanted something more, so I started www.audreymadstowe.com. Never in a million years did I think it would be what it is today nor still be doing it four dang years later.
I was speaking at a fashion and media class the other month and someone asked me if I thought that I would be where I am today, 4 years ago when I started…. the answer is HECK no. Never in my wildest dreams did I think more than 1,000 would care…. Now over 66,000 people care/keep up with me. Never in my dreams did I think this would turn into my full time job either.
Over the last four years I’ve endured a ton of change. Moved to college, travelled, met new people, got engaged, moved in with my fiancè, got 3 animals, etc. The only thing that’s stayed consistent in my life is this blog and my love for it. I often think about my insecure, 18-year old self who just so badly wanted to share my outfits, and write. I could cry thinking about how much of a blessing this space is! It’s allowed me to connect with people all over the world, it allowed me to stay focused and driven in college, it allowed me to connect with dream brands, and it’s allowed me to support myself financially.
I often call my blog “AMS” as it’s my initials for my name and my blog. My goal ALWAYS for AMS has been to encourage, uplift, and style women of all ages. My goal was never money, never a bunch of followers, it’s always been to just be a friend in any way I can to anyone and also encourage others that we’re all going through life and it can suck sometimes.
Four years later and a bunch of change, I’m still doing it! Y’all may remember from this post but I took this blog full-time March 16. Almost 3 months of being full time and it hasn’t been easy. But every day, I look forward to working, I look forward to connecting, and I just absolutely love my job and this space. I wouldn’t be where I am today and this blog wouldn’t have the opportunities it’s had without YOU. I can’t thank you enough for the last few years and y’alls kindness through so many life changes, for clicking on my links, shopping my links, reading my blog, ‘liking or commenting’ on that IG post…. it all keeps me going, this space going, and is allowing me to really try and make this dream a reality.
I’m so so so thankful for four years. I’ve discovered myself with this blog, and brought y’all along with me. Shoutout to all of you that have been around since my freshman year in college days… LOL! I’ve come a long way. I appreciate you, and wish I could give everyone a hug today for being so awesome and kind to follow me. Cheers to FOUR years of ‘AMS’. I hope I’ve had somewhat of a positive impact on your life. Y’all for sure have had a positive impact on mine. XO
