If you follow along on Instagram, I go get a Spray tan from a local place about every 2 weeks. I’m pretty freaking hooked. There’s something about a little color on your skin that gives you an extra boost of confidence. 🙂 Over the last few weeks though, I’ve been using some self tanner again to pro-long the life of my tan in between fresh sprays. Sometime’s I’m going every 3 weeks with this routine too.
Self tanners are still pretty new to me, and I’m also NOT good at applying it but here’s my little routine for now…. pretty easy!
For overnight self tanner: If I have a shoot the next day and really want to deepen my tan, I use the Bondi Sands Self tanning foam. This develops over 6-8 hours so I do this before bed when my spray tan is starting to wear off. The color is amazing and I really love how this one develops. This will stay a good color on my skin about a week or so.
For instant self tan: I’ve been LOVING this product. If I have something going on and forgot to spray tan or self tan the night before, I grab the Nkd Skin Natural Tan Mousse and apply. It gives instant color (really natural and pretty) and dries instantly too. This is fabulous before an event when you want another boost but don’t want to wait for it to develop. This will wash off when you shower!
For in-between tans: Typically every night, to prolong all the different tanning products I use, I love a good gradual tan lotion. This one from Nkd Skin develops over a few days and gives a nice gradual tan while moisturizing your skin.
For extra bronze: Lastly, for a little extra color the day-of and some glow, I’m IN LOVE with the Glowmotions glow oil. They have other shades but I love this one. You just apply to your skin before going out, leaving the house, events, etc. and it gives your skin a little color, but most importantly makes it SHINE and look so glowy and beautiful. Plus it smells incredible.
Another note I wanted to make was that I make sure I’m moisturizing EACH time I get out of the shower to keep that color hydrated and not flaky. Your body wash is also another big thing to take into consideration when getting a spray tan. I buy a coconut oil based bar of soap that’s all natural from my tanning salon but a lot of body washes have products that strip your tan so just FYI! Using good moisturizers and body wash can help prolong the life of your tan by weeks sometimes.
That’s my little self tan routine lately and what products I use for when. Thanks for reading!
