If you’re here… you’re probably wondering what the heck intermittent fasting is or maybe you’ve heard of it but wondering my thoughts.
I starting intermittent fasting in early Feb before I started Faster Way To Fat Loss. It’s been a love/hate relationship ever since which is pretty normal haha.
There’s a couple of different intermittent fasts but the one I do is the 16/8 fasting rule. I fast 16 hours and eat 8 hours. My 8-hour window is typically 12pm-8pm or 1pm-9pm. This article explains the different fasts and benefits of doing this.
It was pretty easy to start, but the 2nd and 3rd week were extremely tough for me to stick too. I usually just get super hungry in the morning around 10am and it’s hard to focus on work if I’m hungry. Also, unless you’re drinking black coffee, you can’t have coffee! I can only drink mine with milk/ creamer so I can’t even enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning without breaking my fast, I think that’s the worst part honestly.
BUT, other than the few hang ups, I’ve been impressed with the results physically and mentally that I’ve seen with this. I have a clearer mind, my body gets used to the window and I find I’m not indulging and binging on so much food as usual, and I also have more energy in my opinion.
With Josh and I’s routine, sometime’s I can’t always follow this to a T as he works late, I work late, I wake up early and our schedules are all sorts of a mess. But I make it a goal each day to fast and work on this better. I will say, I don’t make myself fast or do ANYTHING on Saturday’s and Sunday’s. Those are my cheat and rest days.
Y’all know I’ve been working to lose weight for the wedding and with my low carb diet + this about 5 days a week I’ve seen amazing results and I’m just getting started.
Personally, I’ve really loved intermittent fasting so far and I hope I can improve each day with it. If you try it out, let me know! Also know that it’s tough to stick too and it’s okay if you break and need food. Listen to your body and do what’s right for YOU. Have the best weekend and thanks for tuning into this #AMSgetsActive post. xx
