March is right around the corner so we ALL know what that means…. Spring break, easter, and just SPRING in general. I’ve been a little crazy lately online, looking at all of the different trends and new spring clothes.
This year, I’m really trying to brighten my wardrobe and step out of my comfort zone into color. In the summer, I wear all white. In the winter, I wear all black. I’m challenging myself to purchase only colorful clothing articles this year and learn to style different colors and prints. 🙂 we’ll see how this goes.
Also, If you go to the bottom of this post, or hover over the above image, it should somewhere let you ‘pin this’ image. I would love if y’all shared on Pinterest or even Facebook, and you can refer back to it when doing your shopping!
Cold Shoulders
Off the shoulder, strapless tops, and now cold shoulders are the perfect top in warmer weather that allows you to be covered, yet flirty. You can wear cold shoulder tops with high waisted shorts for a casual look, or a cold shoulder romper with heels to be more dressed up!
Lingerie by Day
This one I find is more for college girls and women in their early 20’s. I love this trend, but I know more conservative people strongly dislike it. The idea is a more sexy way to dress. I love to wear this trend to bar nights in college. That is the one night I like to let myself dress a little scandalous. Not because I want men to notice me, but because it’s a way to feel good and confident in your own skin. You can wear this trend with a see through lace top, or with a bralette and high waisted skirt. We’ve seen the bralette’s EVERYWHERE, but the spring trend is to show them a little more.
Ruffles
ahhhhhh. all the feels for ruffles. I used to not like this trend at all, but it grew on me. I think they are extremely feminine and sweet. I picture weekend brunch and girls trips when I think of ruffles. I like the crop top and off the shoulder versions of this trend the most.
Stripes
Stripes are back, and I’m loving it. Striped rompers are my favorite because I find that they are extremely slimming for most body types. Anything striped is also super simple and allows you with the canvas to accessorize the crap out of it. You can turn a staple piece romper into something unique just by glamming it up with necklaces, rings, and hats.
Tie Up
I know I know…. you are probably getting a little tired of this trend too. We’ve seen it EVERYWHERE, as it was a major winter trend as well. I can’t even begin to tell you how many basic outfits I saw at parties of the tie up black dresses or long sleeve shirts. It bored me to death. When I’m out with friends I’m always looking at other girls outfits, not because I care, but because I genuinely enjoy seeing what everyone wears and searches for when shopping. It helps me know what appeals to my demographics. But this spring I do hope I still see this tie up trend, since it is cute, but with a spring twist to it. Go for color, and dimension. I’ve seen a lot of tie up rompers with bright colors and a ruffled top or bottom to it.
Pom Poms
I. love. this. trend. It is my absolute favorite for summer! Last summer/ spring, the pom pom shorts were HUGE. This spring, the pom poms are making appearances on dresses and cover ups. I’ve also seen companies start to put them on shoes…. and I’m overly obsessed. I’ve had my eyes on a few pairs that are bright and colorful, and then you add the pom poms to them and they just scream “beach.”
I really hope y’all enjoyed this, and are as excited for spring and warmer weather like I am 🙂
