It’s FRIDAY!! Today, My family and Josh’s family are coming to town for my grad weekend. It’s about to get real crazy. We’re celebrating tonight at dinner, then a little brunch tomorrow, I graduate, and then Josh and I hit the road to Dallas to make our flight on Sunday. We’re going somewhere tropical as a little “one last hurrah before I work every day the rest of my life” lol. I’ve been doing some college series posts this week. Check out Monday’s and Wednesday’s if you haven’t already. Today, we’re keeping it light-hearted as I’ve got a full fledge deep hearted post for y’all tomorrow.
Post grad life is all about entering the real adult world. Paying all sorts of bills, working full time, and truly being on your own. Since my blog is fashion-based, you know Im going to say we all have to do it in style haha. I’ve been stocking up on some work wardrobe staples to wear each day for work and figured I may as well share with y’all in case you’re graduating or want to refresh some of your work staples.
I’ve grown to love a classic work pant. I used to just think jeans and nothing else but I love the sleek look of these pants. I get most of mine from Loft as they are the most comfortable to me. They also have different fits. I do think work pants can tend to not give you your body shape but I always grab the slim fit style for that reason.
As much as I love color and prints, you need to stock up on every color of neutral in your blouses. You can mix and match them with different pants and accessories and make the most out of them.
For the most part you can get away with just about every kind of shoe now a days unless you work in an atmosphere with a strict dress code. But I still think you should grab a neutral flat. I prefer DSW when finding affordable, comfortable shoes.
Saying goodbye to all the mini skirts I wore in college for bar nights. 🙁 BUT, I love a good fitted skirt. I know pencil skirts are so 90s but they’re making the comeback! I still go for a shorter, right above my knees skirt but I love the styles I linked above.
One of the most classic pieces in your work wardrobe! You also only need about 1 or 2 in your closet. You can pair with anything and it’s not something like a shirt that you want to keep buying! Also, I recommend splurging a little for the best one.
