We’ve come to the END of October!!! This is always a busy month of midterms, projects, and getting my blog content ready for the holidays. I think I mentioned last week but we’ve been getting a cold front in Lubbock and it’s been super cold lately. Josh loves the cold while me on the other hand would rather be somewhere warm and sunny haha. But I do like the cold weather to an extent. I love love love layering pieces and Fall is the start of it!
Once the cooler temps trickle in, I start to bring out all cardigans, flannels, and light scarves. The layers build as it gets cooler. For this months His and Her we wanted to style flannels together to show you don’t have to typically “match” colors with your guy and also showcase our typical weekend style. We are both very easy going and tend to dress more casual to things. We both LOVE flannels because they’re really cute to layer with and can be dressed up or down.
I styled mine a little more “weekend” appropriate with heeled booties, ripped denim, and layered necklaces. Josh is super casual with his awesome flannel hoodie (guys love these! Would be a great gift.) and just a plain black tee. Guys are always so much more simple than girls haha. PS. How cute is our Marley girl!? ^^ Ugh I just love her.
A little secret (well, maybe not a huge one) with my flannels is I always buy MENS. Yup. Josh could technically wear mine too haha. I always search for mens flannels and just order a medium. They’re more comfortable and have that slouchy style. For some reason, women’s flannels are more “stylish” and small.
As you can see we did not coordinate colors for this and it still worked. Josh’s outfit is mostly black, grey and reds while my flannel is white, navy, and brown. The different plaid scheme is what makes these two look seamless together. I have a chunkier more checkered flannel while his is more of a “plaid” style.
Josh and I have a crazy busy week of projects and studying but we will be going to my Semi-formal Friday night which I’m so excited about! While flannel season and casual style is more our thing… there’s nothing like an excuse to get dressed up fancy with friends! Thanks so much for reading! Happy Halloween! 🙂 xo
