Howdy! 😉 How’s your week going!? I hope really well. I’m so excited to share this dreamy shoot with y’all. Whether you’re a lot older or a lot younger, I’m sure at some point you have/had a super fancy dress. I have mine from prom and multiple formals and I’m always wanting to re-style them.
When you purchase such a gorgeous statement dress, it’s kind of sad that you most likely won’t wear it again. I always try to find other ways I can wear mine and wanted to share my tips with y’all!
When it comes to such a fancy dress, finding and planning other events to wear it to are your best option. Especially in college, each year there are formals for sorority’s and fraternities. Yes, you may not want to re-wear the same dress, but 9 times out of 10, people won’t remember what you wore and especially if you put your style to a challenge and wear it in a different way.
Beyond college, you may have fancy work events, fundraisers, galas, and the list goes on where you can buy one nice dress and style it in different ways for future events. It truly makes a statement dress well worth the money. As far as how to mix the dress up:
– Change the shoes
I paired these simple, more neutral toned heels with my dress. If I re-style it again, I would wear chunky gray or black heels or even a pop of color. You can do so much with the shoes especially since they’re shown with how the dress is shaped.
– Go for bulk or dainty necklaces
Here, I paired a cluster of dainty silver necklaces. If you pair light and simple necklaces with your dress, re-wear it again but with a chunky white beaded necklace or even for a tropical dinner night out and pair it with a hot pink/ turquoise blue chunky necklace.
– Change up the hair
You may not notice it, but the hair can make a drastic change to the style of your dress. Wear it loosely or tightly curled and re-style it again with an elegant up-do to completely change the mood of it. People will totally forget you once wore it with tousled waves.
– Hem the dress
This one really depends on your preference and also how much you spend on your elegant dress. If it’s super expensive, you may not want to be cutting it up haha. BUT, in this case, my GORGEOUS dress is under $100. If you’re looking for a really nice dress, this one has incredible detailing and awesome quality. After re-wearing this to a few formal events, I like to hem my fancy dresses and make them a cocktail dress. This gives them more chances to be worn. Especially since cocktail parties happen way more often. Take your fancy dress to the tailor and have them cut it to fit you. This one would be gorgeous as a cocktail dress since it’s a wrap style.
Next time you’re buying a more formal dress, think about a style you can pair so many other things with and get the full use out of your dress. My dress is from the Boohoo prom range and I couldn’t recommend it more!! Thanks for reading! 😉
PS. My incredible lashes are from Private Label Extensions. I’m wearing Dubai.Â
