It’s been a minute! Actually, two years since my last book roundup LOL. I go through periods where I’m reading a book each month and then periods I don’t touch a book for about a year.
Lately, I’ve found reading so therapeutic. I’ve experienced a lot of social media/phone burnout over the past year so reading a physical book has been really nice. I also joined a small book club with some friends so that’s held me accountable too. Here’s what I’ve read so far this year!
A Woman is No Man– This was a really different read for me but it was amazing! I honestly couldn’t put it down. A glimpse into a family’s life surrounding a controlling Palestinian background.
The Defining Decade– A total game changer book with a lot of great values and perspectives. I wish I read this when I was 21 or 22. Feel like it didn’t apply to my life season currently when I read it but man this would’ve been such a great read when I was in a really lost time.
The 5am Club- I heard nothing but great things about this but I wasn’t too impressed. I couldn’t really get into it plus I expected more of a how-to book and less of a story. But it’s basically a playbook of two people, one a millionaire, and one a ‘normal’ human trying to seek better prosperity.
Redeeming Love- Oh my gosh… I saw the movie first then read the book and OMG. So good. I didn’t finish the last 100 pages because I knew how it ended but I thought the book was fantastic and the story is so beautiful. Faith based and in the 1800’s about how a child sold into prostitution finds God’s unconditional love through her husband.
It Ends with Us- The first Colleen Hoover book I read and it was a 10/10. Couldn’t put it down and read in a couple of days.
Reminders of Him– Another Colleen Hoover book that I cried buckets finishing. About a young mom finding her way back to her daughter!
Book Lovers- This was a really cute and easy Summer read. We read this a part of our book club and I really liked it. About two sisters on a vacation in a small town, finding their way.
All Your Perfects- I wish someone would’ve warned me this book was based around infertility/miscarriage in it but my gosh I couldn’t put this one down either. Also bawled my eyes out at the ending. Definitely WANTED a different ending for them but this one will pull your heart strings.
The Perfect Marriage– A murder mystery book that was thrilling with lots of different plots and twists… the end had me blindsided!
My Killer Vacation- This one was SPICY and I honestly loved it haha. It was a great summer read with a little suspense/murder mystery with lots of romance added in. I honestly got really embarrassed/ bright cheeks reading some scenes LOL.
That’s the book review / round up so far! I’m reading a really great Fall book right now too it’s called A Flicker in the Dark. It’s a suspenseful thriller.
