Hi friends! I can’t believe it’s been almost a year since I got married. I did a whole wedding series in early Spring sharing so many details of the big day. I realized that I never shared my wedding hair and makeup so wanted to cover that today.
I’m a very trendy person and tend to follow trends with my outfits and home decor. However, I wanted my wedding to be classic and timeless. So that’s kind of what I did with my makeup and hair as well but with a twist.
I personally like my hair best when it’s down and curled. When it comes to your wedding, you want to do whatever will make you feel like your best self. I knew if I did an updo I wouldn’t like how I looked so I stuck with what I knew. Even though I wanted it down, I didn’t want it all in my face. That’s when I started searching for half up half down styles. I fell in love with this braid look that I did and since I was having a winter wedding I decided to throw in some baby’s breath throughout the braid too. Looking back, I absolutely LOVED my hair. So happy with it!
I went to Urban Betty in Austin the day of for my hair and my bridesmaids also got their hair done there as well.
My friend, Gabby, actually did my makeup for me. She’s an amazing makeup artist in DFW and we actually know each other back from high school. Adore her and she is SO talented. We did a couple of practice rounds and I showed her a few inspo photos I found on Pinterest. I wanted sultry but natural. We went for a full coverage foundation look and neutral blush color. On the day of I did a pink lipstick, specifically Brave by Mac. For the eyes, we did big bold lashes, a dark brown sultry crease and then a gorgeous light shimmery champagne shade on my eyelids. I wish I could have this makeup look every day haha I feel like it was perfect for my eyes.
