Happy Tuesday babes!
I’m still recovering from the weekend… I had my formal and it was such a fun time with girl friends. Although we all had dates we definitely always make sure to have the best time all together as just us girls. I’ve said it a thousand times on my blog but I’m so thankful for the friends I’ve made in college. Girl friends are super important to have in your life, and it’s hard to find the right group but I’m so thankful I did.
Speaking of girl friends, there are no better nights than a girl’s night out. It’s no surprise that I love to dress up. I know we all dress up for whatever special guy is in your life, but personally I love to dress up even more for friends. Girls appreciate style and beauty SO much more. There’s nothing better than spending two hours getting ready and then having a whole night with your gals taking photos and having a great time. Whether it’s for happy hour, a nice dinner, a movie, or a shopping trip, you can always dress to impress. (yes, even for your besties.)
Personally, when I have a girls date, I usually like to take advantage of it and dress a little more daring. I love prints, patterns, texture, and fun colors. Men don’t always understand that nor appreciate a good print mix but you know your girlfriends do! If I’m going on an actual date I usually play it safe with a neutral outfit and something simple. With my girl friends, it’s all about the fun prints and funky jewelry for me. For instance, THIS dress. Can we just swoon over it all day!? Like.I’m.obsessed. I can see myself wearing this dress so many times over the summer, especially for dinners on the beach. The leaf patter with the pop of pink in the dress is just so fun!! It’s also a really breezy shift dress which is perfect for the warmer months coming. I sized up with this dress, because sometimes shift dresses can be a little too short on me, but it was super big on me (still going to wear it tho) so definitely stay true to your size when ordering this dress. For accessories, I wanted the main attention to be on the dress so I paired some simple (but fun) block heels with an easy going black choker to tie in this whole “tumblr” type of trend. I also got this black saddle bag from Topshop which mixed the print a little bit with the snake skin and fringe detailing on it.
So, next time you’re out with your gals, try out a funky outfit and I promise your friends and YOU will love it. There are so many prints and fun ‘girl’s night out’ outfit options over on the Topshop website. Tweet/ snap me your outfits because I wanna see 🙂
Cheers to best friends and a girl’s night out…. xoxo
