It’s my favorite day of the week!! #weddingwednesday day!! Today I’m sharing my favorite images from our wedding ceremony and all the details. Our ceremony was everything to me, and just so gorgeous.
Y’all, I had a pinterest board and a list of about 1000 things I wanted for the ceremony. Overall, I really wanted a whimsical, romantic, and lush theme. Our florists are actually family friends that did my flowers and they did EVERYTHING and more for our day. I remember walking out to the ceremony and just being in AWE of how beautiful and perfect it was for me.
Our wedding colors were emerald green and white. I wanted a lot of white roses and different white flowers, baby’s breath, and a bunch of eucalyptus.
Our venue was The Allan House located in downtown Austin, Texas. I chose this venue for MANY reasons. But as far as the ceremony look, I really wanted a “greenhouse” look with my theme. I loved that they tent the outdoor space in the winter so I didn’t have to worry about rain. Yet, the tent is clear so it still felt like we were outdoors and could feel a breeze. I also fell in love with THAT TREE. They had lights all over it and it really added that “lush” look I was going for.
We focused heavily on the flowers and also what the venue came with. They already had the pre-lit tree, had the chandeliers hanging, and tented it along with the chairs and everything. This space is so gorgeous we didn’t want to add TOO much. For the cobblestone area that we stood on, we went with a gold hexagon arch. We rented this from Mancino Rentals. Our florists really did this up so beautifully. We also added these amazing marble and gold lanterns (sadly sold out) from Pottery Barn but here’s similar with battery operated candles. After the ceremony, we scattered the lanterns across the reception. Super simple!!
Someone DM’d me a few weeks ago asking about music and I LOVED IT. I really wanted to add in some of the key music that we went with. I spent HOURS looking for good songs and think there needs to be more info on this haha!
I loved these songs. Tell your DJ to play Vitamin String Quartet music as people enter! It’s beautiful but at the same time, fun and upbeat. I also STILL vividly remember our recessional song playing as we walked down the aisle. I had so many people tell me at the wedding how much they loved that song as we walked away. Another FUN and upbeat, but sweet song.
TBH I had do idea what “processional order” meant when I first heard it lol. So for those that are lost on what this is too, it’s the order of people, music, details, etc for the ceremony. The customization of the order, people, etc is completely up to you and your family. Here’s how ours went:
I wanted to touch on this real quick. It was important to me that we said our own vows. Josh could’ve gone without it but I made it clear in the beginning that this was something I really wanted to do. I think it makes the ceremony so personable, funny, and adds that personal touch. Plus, my husband can tell me he loves me everyday but nothing compares to the words they say to you on your wedding day to really make you feel so loved and special. I will cherish his vows to me forever.
We each had 7 bridesmaids and 7 groomsmen. The girls dresses were from Birdy Grey, I did a whole blog post on their dresses. The guys were all wearing The Black Tux. Our precious flower girl is our (almost) 4 year old niece and I picked her adorable dress out from David’s Bridal. I loved the girls bouquets so much. They were lush and simple. My sister and I had some of my moms dress in our bouquets too!! The guys actually were SUPPOSED to have boutonnieres but we forgot and left them in their boxes… grr!! A few things of course go wrong but still kicking myself for not remembering that their boutonnieres were in a box at the venue!
If you and your husband have a dog that is near and dear to your heart, HIGHLY recommend having them in your wedding. She was the highlight of the ceremony other than getting married haha. I had a collar and leash completely done up in florals for her. She looked so precious. Everyone joked that she stole my show too haha. The Best Man was in charge of her throughout the ceremony and she was NOT having it. She was crying and being so loud throughout the ceremony because she just wanted next to her mama and dad. Some people may not enjoy the distraction but I LOVED it and thought it was hilarious haha.
THE BEST day ever. December 6, 2019, is a special day to me. Thanks for reading and I hope I answered a lot of your questions that I’ve been getting! xo
