I am 21 weeks pregnant now with our second baby and gosh it is flying by, y’all! It definitely goes by much faster when you’re chasing and keeping up with a toddler. I wanted to rewind and share what the last few months have been like in case you’ve missed any of my stories. Ezra and baby girl will be about 2 years and 3 months apart.
Were we trying?
YES! Our original plan/hope was for a 2.5-3 year age gap and we are so grateful we get to experience two kiddos a few months before our original plan.
How we found out:
Since we were trying, we had an idea that I was pregnant. I was taking multiple tests (all expired because they were old tests) and kept getting negatives but I just KNEW I was pregnant. So about 4 days after my missed period, Josh ran out to get a Clear Blue set and I received a positive in an instant. We found out all together in our bathroom at home haha.
How I feel about having a girl:
Excited! Nervous! All the above. I cannot wait to have a little mini me forever to do all the girl things with. I feel like raising a daughter is such a big responsibility, one where she’ll be kind, grateful, know she’s beautiful the way she is, and to include others. But either way we cannot wait for this baby girl!
Symptoms:
I haven’t shared this but I have an anterior placenta, so I can only feel her kick when I’m sitting or laying in certain positions. Although, ever since 14 weeks I’ve been feeling her move and I’ve had great energy! No symptoms other than some growing pains and back pain in the evenings. Soaking up the next 10 weeks before I’m uncomfy haha.
Has this pregnancy been different than my first?
Not really, honestly! Very similar experiences. I would say this one has been slightly easier than my first pregnancy… but again I think it’s because we are so busy with a toddler that I am not paying as close attention to every little thing.
What I’m working on right now for baby 2:
Gathering details for her nursery: I want to do a muted deep pink/mauve color and do a goose/duck theme for her room with a European flare to it. I’m also starting to figure out a sprinkle.. which I didn’t feel like I needed but now that I’m getting to experience having a baby girl I’m excited to celebrate her with a small group! And lastly, I need to start working on what I will need for her. I don’t think I’ll do a registry because we have so much and I really only need a few things.

We do have it picked out and I cannot wait to share with y’all. Will most likely be at birth that we will announce. TBD!!!
