Have you tried lip filler!? It’s something I’ve always been intrigued by but wasn’t sure it was something I wanted to pay for / try. After looking into it quite a bit and seeing other friends do it, I decided to try it.
I went to Aya Med Spa here in Dallas in February to get my lips filled. I went in with no expectations other than I just wanted a little bit to make my upper lip look more noticeable.
Aya was GORGEOUS inside, and they offer a variety of services and products. I was there for about an hour between talking to the aesthetician beforehand about what I wanted, numbing, and the actual filling process.
The numbing process was the weirdest part. You can’t feel your tongue and you’re like drooling everywhere haha. But it helps tremendously with the pricks. When the filling started, the pain was mild to me, and I actually shared on stories how getting my eyebrows micro-bladed hurt worse to me. It just felt like an uncomfortable little sting around your lips.
As far as my lips, we did about 90% of a syringe of Restylane. She focused on my top lip but also put a little into the bottom as well. We didn’t do the full syringe because she said my lips weren’t stretching very much and didn’t want to over do it. It went by pretty quickly and then we were done! I bruised a little bit about 10 mins afterward and they looked a bit swollen but nothing crazy.
The next day after getting them done, I guess my lips took filler well because they were just a little swollen still and very mild bruising. From there, they got better each day and after about a week, my lips were settled in and looked fine again.
Fast forward to now, about 5 weeks later, I LOVE them. They’re very subtle and natural and I’m so happy with them. I love that it looks like I have a top lip now. I will definitely be going back in the future for a touch-up. Highly recommend if this is something you’ve been thinking about. If not, check out Aya for their skincare, facials, and other treatments they offer. I have a code that gets you 20% off anything too! It’s AUDREY20.
