About 7 weeks ago I got my eyebrows microbladed. Last week, I had my perfecting session (usually included 6 weeks after initial appointment) and decided it was time to round up all of your questions and all about this!!
First thing y’all should know… I have a whole highlight on my Instagram dedicated to my initial appointment. It shares the whole process and healing. If you want to see more “live” videos, head there!
First things first, the initial brow pic. The above was the only selfie I got before we started lol, and it’s a screenshot of my video. My eyebrows are very light, and sparse so I would fill them in quite a bit with an eyebrow dip shade.
To start, I went to Royalty by Rachael for my microblading. She is a former Miss Texas and so sweet. I did my research and she’s licensed, extremely sanitary and had great reviews. She’s in the DFW metroplex, definitely more towards Ft. Worth. She’s in a little salon and has her own room and she makes you feel right at home.
The first appointment is about 3-3.5 hours long. When you go in, you sign some papers, she analyzes your brows, asks what you’re wanting and you lay down and get started. Rachael went into depth with EVERYTHING making sure I knew what was going on and everything was what I wanted. We took pictures and she also helped me decide the perfect shade for my face and hair color.
She goes in with these stencils and looks and measures for where your natural lines and arch is, then goes off of that. After we were good and she knew what I wanted, we started! She starts my pricking your brows a little (feels uncomfortable) to open your pores and then the numbing cream goes on.
From there, the microblading starts. The blade goes in and makes hair like strokes to give your brow a natural hair like look. This part goes in and out of pain. The number one thing people want to know is how painful this is. Rachael does an excellent job at numbing and re-numbing as you go and you will HAVE to. It does wear off fast and the second it does it’s freaking tough haha. It’s like mini paper cuts going into your eyebrow. But she re-numbs and it’s great.
After the blading is done, you have an option for shading which gives that “filled in” more makeup look. I didn’t want to have to fill my brows in so I said YES to this part. This can be very painful too as numbing wears off. She goes in with a needle and the color and goes over your brow. The buzzing of the tool is also not so fun to hear. I felt like maybe I was a little wuss when it came to this, but I’ve never had a tattoo so I can’t compare the pain.
I will say, I’d do it all over with the pain though because Rachael is amazing at making your brows look bomb and it’s so nice to have.
The is the before and after on the original appointment. Looks much more natural and the color is 10x better!!!
6 weeks after the appointment, you will go back in for the perfecting session. This is included in the price!! You will go over the brows, and make any changes, fill in more, etc. to make sure you absolutely love them!! I loved the way my brows were initially but I really wanted mine more filled in and the start of them more defined.
Rachael also suggested we define the arch and tail more too. The same process happened just a lot faster, this appointment is about 2 hours long. Afterwards though…. HOLY MOLY. They look incredible!!! I am so obsessed y’all!! They look like I filled them in and I love the defined look of them.
Prices range all over the U.S. but Rachael has specific rates on her site ranging from $400-$550. She’s also giving everyone who books with her from my site 10% off their session with code: AUDREY10
The aftercare…. Rachael gives you VERY specific details and all the products! You get a cute makeup bag, a sheet of instructions, and Aquaphor, wash for the brows, and another product. She will tell you how to take care of them. The brows lighten about 40% after each session as well!
And that’s them afterwards! They will lighten a little but I am seriously IN LOVE with them. Like…. WOW. Thank you to Rachael for being so awesome, and a perfectionist because my brows are amazing. Be sure to check her out if you’re in the DFW metroplex and looking for microblading.
Thanks for reading y’all!!! xo
