Happy hump day! I’m back for another #WeddingWednesday post. I shared how I asked my bridesmaids last week so I felt it fitting to share how Josh asked his groomsmen. I mainly wanted to share because of the funny story behind it.
To start, when I started thinking and asking about our wedding party gifts Josh DID NOT understand why he couldn’t take his groomsmen for a beer and just ask them. I talked about it with him for weeks about how it’s just nice to put a little something together for them and it’s not a big deal. He still was not having it haha, the thought of putting a goodie bag together for his bros just really didn’t sit well with him haha. Meanwhile I was trying to find THE perfect boxes for my bridesmaids.
One night I was browsing Pinterest for some ideas and typed in “DIY Groomsmen gifts for guys who don’t want to ask” and up popped a couple DIY Groomsmen ideas from men with the same mindset haha. I showed them to Josh and he was FINALLY ok with it, he thought it was funny. The ones I saw had a little different wording/text so we put our own twist on it.
We went to Marshall’s for the brown bags and tissue paper. Josh went and got them all altoids, cigars, and whiskey. We put everything into the bags and then I made a little graphic saying “Hey man, the fianceè said I needed to ask you in a cute way so here it is: Will you be my groomsman? We’ve got free booze.” Haha!! I printed it out and taped them to each of the bags.

I actually got to watch Josh ask all of his groomsmen (7 total as well) which was really fun and sweet. They all loved the bags and I felt good knowing it was a gift Josh ended up loving too. This was a SUPER easy, affordable idea if you’re engaged and your fiancè needs to ask his groomsmen.
Thanks for reading today’s post! Stay tuned for my Santa Fe recap coming to the blog on Friday.
