Lubbock can be small but it’s GROWING. There may not be much to do, but there’s always something fun you can try!! I’ve shared my favorite Lubbock spots before but today I thought I would share my top 5 things to do in Lubbock over Christmas.
Santa Land is PERFECT if you have kiddos. Josh and I went the other year to it for date night and it was just funny for us! We were the only ones without kids haha. But it’s such a cute atmosphere and you can get hot chocolate, and go through all of the lights and figures. It has a ton of different disney lights and is SO much fun for kids. If you are on a date in college though, you could still stop by to look but I would plan to do on your way home from dinner or something because we were in and out in about 15 mins!
The official Carol of Lights ceremony that is a TTU tradition was actually held November 30. But, they turn on their lights every night around 6:30pm. This would be a fun little drive, you can stop by the Starbucks and go there to see the big tree and take pics!
The Buddy Holly Center is another huge Lubbock attraction. If you haven’t been yet, I would take the extra time you have over the holiday’s to go see it with friends or family. It’s a really cool, unique spot that will show you a lot about Lubbock’s history. They also have a caroling event December 14, 2018 with hot chocolate, cookies, and ornament decorating.
Cactus theatre is a really old movie theatre that’s been around for ages. It’s now a live performance theater and they have a ton of showings weekly. You can see here who all they’ve got lined up the next few weeks surrounding the holidays.
Lastly, go see the Christmas lights!! Stop by your favorite coffee spot and get in the car! Lubbock has some beautiful homes and a ton of them decorate for Christmas. Some of my favorite spots:
Lastly, I wanted to include some restaurants both nice and casual that decorate for the holidays and just have a really cozy vibe this time of year….
Thanks so much for reading, y’all!!! xx
