HAPPY Friyyaayyy!!! Seriously so pumped for this weekend. Josh, Marley, and I are headed to Austin for our friends wedding. And we get to see/stay with Josh’s family and see our niece… YAY! Last weekend, we went to the Apple Orchards here in West Texas and had so much fun!! I LOVE these photos because it really captures how much fun we were having haha. Marley kept running off into the mud and sneaking behind trees.
Other than the cutesy photos at this Apple farm…. I’m actually here today to share this Steve Madden outfit with y’all. I’m teaming up with Steve Madden today to talk about their new #GenSteve campaign. First and foremost, these sneaker wedges are SO cute I’ve been wearing nonstop lately. You can grab them at your local Dillard’s. I wore out with friends the other night and then wore them with this outfit last weekend. I paired with this ruffle sweater, some basic jeans, and spiced it up with a statement belt.
The #GenSteve campaign is all about blurring the lines between generations. I’ve always been fascinated with the different generations and what makes each one so different. I guess I’m classified as a Millennial but also technically a Gen Z. You may be a millennial too or a baby boomer, or something else. Honestly though…. why does it even matter?
There are so many articles buzzing around online about how “jobs are only hiring millennials for this and this” “baby boomers aren’t up to date anymore” “Millennials are ruining this” etc. WHY. Who the heck cares?? I completely understand that each generation of ages are different. Trust me, I sometimes can’t get over how mature/older 14 year old girls look now a days compared to my no makeup, frizzy hair, zebra-loving, self at that age. I’ve never been one to really care about how old other people are, what generation they come from, etc.
I care about the person they are, how kind they are, what kind of creativity/productiveness they can bring, etc. We are all made uniquely ourselves. Who cares if you’re a baby boomer or what. The #GenSteve campaign is encouraging all of us to look past these generation titles and look more towards who that person is. It’s encouraging us to laugh, be creative, smile, find our passions, and challenge one another.
So, if you’re reading all about how you can and can’t do this because of your generation…. just know YOU have more to offer and don’t let anything stop you.
This whole campaign has given me some fun ideas for this fall, and makes me feel more creative and empowered to BE ME and not apologize for it. Have a fabulous weekend, y’all!! Let me know what you think about this campaign. XO
