Disclaimer: Before you read this post, Josh and I are NOT engaged.
Happy Monday! I hope your weekend was grand. Mine was spent recovering from last week, working out, and Starbucks with Josh and Marley. It was a much needed weekend. Last night, I meal prepped for this weeks meals and now I’m looking at these photos craving cheese, wine, and salami haha.
Did you catch last weeks Valentine’s outfit? Today, I’m sharing another cute look, some romantic date night ideas, and sharing some beautiful rings for my friends and readers that are talking about that next step in their relationship. I decided to split everything I wanted to talk about throughout the photos so keep scrolling for all the romance 😉
It’s love month… and a time that a lot are starting to plan or actually get engaged. I swear I see an engagement every day on my facebook. I LOVE it. It’s so sweet to see. Of course, Josh and I have talked about it in the future but right now I think our biggest concern is getting through school. But I have so many friends and readers who I know are eager for this next step in their relationship and I wanted to share a company that I personally love and not gonna lie send screenshots of pretty rings by them to Josh maybbeeeee once a week haha…
I’m excited to team up with JamesAllen.com to share their stunning rings and also share our Formula of Love. Josh and I look at our formula as simple. I think each relationship has their own “Formula of Love” but for Josh and I ours is all about being kind, apologizing when needed, and lots of open communication. Something I love about us both is that when we get in arguments, we both just end up apologizing 10 minutes later. Josh is so so good to me and I think we both always try to make sure the other is happy which is how we stay positive during the ups and downs of school, work, etc.
I think most girls dream about their future engagement whether they’re 10, 15, 30 or single or in a relationship. I’ve dreamt of mine since I knew what it was haha. It just sounds magical! I’ve seen JamesAllen.com pop up on my timelines or on IG and love everything I see. I always send to friends or Josh just for fun because they’re beautiful! James Allen let’s you design your own ring – 150,000+ certified conflict-free diamonds and hundreds of settings in platinum, white gold, rose gold and yellow gold. I love that! You’re able to customize it just how you want or your future fiancé can make it so special and just what he pictured for you. I also know that getting engaged isn’t always the cheapest. The benefits of buying yours online are that they are up to 50% cheaper compared to traditional stores.
I’ve definitely played around on the site to see what styles I love… All the ones on my finger above I seriously SWOON over. I think Josh was like “please calm down” this whole shoot haha. Another fabulous thing about JamesAllen.com is that their rings have lifetime warranty, free resizing and engraving, and hassle-free returns. Ladies, send your man a link to this blog post to send a little hint and have him look at their site 😉 PLUS they are having a sale now that is 25% off – settings and fine jewelry only!
I’m already prepared for all of the adorable engagements that are about to happen in February but I love seeing love. Now just patiently waiting for my turn 😉
I wanted to share a really easy look that you can create in your own closet or only have to pick up maybe one thing. As Spring is around the corner, I’ve started bringing out all of my sweet white dresses. You can never go wrong. I saw this one in the store the other week and had to grab. I love the open lace detail at the chest and then it flows out to a comfy silhouette. It comes with a white slip underneath which is the best part! I knew I needed these to pair with it and they’re the perfect pop of color for my white dress. I’m definitely wearing these pearl beauties on our romantic date. P.S. How CUTE is this little picnic basket as an accessory haha!? I may have to actually start carrying it around I love it!
For Josh’s look, this is his typical style. Nice shoes, jeans, a shirt and pullover. I feel like this is most guys choice of outfit too. I loved that his was so vibrant red and mine complimented it with the shoes but it wasn’t like we were a walking rainbow. 😉
Any chance Josh and I get to go out and do something fun is a time I always love. With our opposite schedules we only get MAYBE 1 night a month to do this. Here’s some romantic date night ideas we both enjoy or want to do-
An all-out Picnic at a quiet location: Checked this off our list during this shoot! I want to do it again now haha. As you can see, we planned for more of a wine and cheese picnic but we made fresh lemonade, cheese platter, strawberries, and cupcakes. I had to go all out with a traditional blanket too haha. This is SUCH a sweet date idea. I recommend finding a more secluded picnic area rather than a busy park with kids running everywhere.
Fancy Dinner: Well. This is a given haha. If you’re in Lubbock, I recommend Las Brisas steak house. We went here for my birthday and it was incredible. Pricey, but amazing.
Movie at home and build a fort: Yes… I’m talking about doing what you used to do when you were like 6 years old haha. I’ve been seeing these cute ideas on Instagram and wanted to include. Pick out a romantic movie, build a fun fort in your living room (including fur friends) and relax and enjoy a movie in a different way than normal.
Cozy up at a fireplace with wine or hot chocolate: I love the simple idea of this! If you don’t have a fireplace, most nice hotels do and will let you sit in the lobby if you get food, etc. Order some wine or hot chocolate and talk about fun future hopes and dreams.
Spa day: Josh and I have not done this but I think it’s such a fun idea. Josh may have other opinions though haha. Plan a spa day! Couples massage, pedicure (yes, guys can do this too!!), etc.
Drive in Movie: This is still to this date, one of Josh and I’s favorite dates. We have a really old Time-y one in Lubbock and you feel like you’re back in the past. Plus, a drive in movie with just the two of you in your car is so much more romantic than a giant theatre with a hundred people.
Hot Yoga Class: Are you a couple that loves to workout together? Josh and I love going to the gym and I think a hot yoga class together would be so much fun. Maybe not the most romantic…. but I had to throw in haha.
Late night drive: I would LOVE to do this on Valentine’s with Josh. Grab a blanket and some pillows and go for a little drive. Listen to some John Mayor, hold hands, and pull over in a more rural area half way through and lay out the blanket and look at the stars. This just sounds so mushy gushy to me but I’m all about it!!
Josh is my best friend and I can’t wait for another Valentine’s Day spent with the sweetest, most loving guy. Thanks for reading y’all!! XO
