Why hello everyone! Today we are talking skincare. I’ve shared here that I used to struggle really bad with acne. I did for almost three years. It was not a fun battle but I celebrated a year of clear skin this past August. It’s been glorious feeling confident enough to go to class or run errands makeup-free. It’s been amazing to not want to break down in tears every time my friends or boyfriend would see my skin! My skin cleared up pretty fast once I found the trick to clear it but I was left with quite a bit of acne scars all over my cheeks and chin.
Personally, I was so thankful to have cleared my acne a year ago that my acne scars were the least of my worries. Around February they did start to bother me and I tried multiple cheap drug store options to start slowly clearing them. I wasn’t seeing huge differences though. I kind of stopped trying and just forgot about it for a little bit until this summer when it really started bothering me again. I deal with really dry skin sometimes and care A LOT about my skincare regimen. I like a couple drugstore products but I genuinely think skincare is something you should put a lot of thought and research into and splurge a little when needed.
I came across Advanced Clinicals this summer and y’all… life changing! Their products weren’t the typical ones you see and I loved everything they had in their online store. For me, a quality moisturizer and serum are the first and most important. I kind of told them my skincare issues and how my biggest concern now was that I wanted to clear up my scars and find moisturizers that keep my skin hydrated. I also have really sensitive skin so nothing that was too harsh.
To start, the one thing that’s not Advanced Clinicals is my face wash. I have a couple I really like but I typically do a quick wash with my Cetaphil and then take off all dirt/makeup and deep clean with the Biore charcoal face mask. I’ve never had a face wash like this!!! It strips your skin of all makeup in one clean!! I usually do a double cleanse and then voila, makeup-free!
From there, I like to take the dark spot corrector and pat over my cheeks and chin where I have all of my scars. I have seen EXCEPTIONAL differences the last month with this stuff. My scars have begun to lighten and start to go away. This product is also great if you have sun spots, age spots, or hyper pigmentation.
After the corrector has dried into my skin, I like to mix the Vitamin C serum and Vitamin C Creme together and rub into my face and neck. This combo is heaven, y’all! The Vitamin C also helps lift up scars and age spots off your face and has aloe vera to calm and soothe the skin. (If y’all want more details they have really awesome descriptions of the ingredients on site!)
If I have a pimple from stress or dehydration, I like to put a little Tea Tree Oil on it and then also use my Zapzyt cream. About once a week I love to put on a mask. I especially love these two featured. My top favorite is the Hyaluronic moisture sheet mask. It feels so cooling on the skin and you rub in the serum once you take the sheet mask off and you will wake up with glowing skin!! The Collagen gel mask is also another favorite, this one does a really great job at restoring your skins elasticity. I use this when my skin needs a little extra push!
My next purchase I want is this retinol serum. Retinol is what CLEARED my skin up so I’m intrigued to try this one too! If y’all are interested in purchasing from Advanced Clinicals, they’re giving AMS readers 30% off with code ASTOWE30. I highly recommend the things in this post, they have been so amazing.
