Welcome to my house desk! This is my second year living in the same room in the same house with my friends. I’ve made a few minor changes to my room since I moved in over a year ago and my room has truly become my sanctuary. Although, I run my own business, study for school in my room, etc. So my tiny space of a bedroom is an overflowing closet, office, beauty room and sleep space. While I love it so much, it can stress me out sometimes. I feel like I’ve pretty much nailed down my desk to make it look girly, homey, and a fun office space yet still functional and storage-approved.Â
When it came to decorating, I wanted to keep the theme with the rest of my room: pink, gold, and white. Every decorative piece on my desk is from Homegoods (gotta love that place!). I try to keep it simple since I have a giant desktop computer and my laptop on it. I keep my pens/pencils kind of hidden in the back right corner for extra free space for me to work.
As far as storage, it’s been a struggle. I store small things in my drawers but with the amount of PR packages and brand collaboration products I receive, I didn’t know where to put it. I’m also constantly on a small budget so I decided to get a huge clear bin from Walmart to store underneath and throw different packages and textbooks in there. I also keep my printer on top of it since it’s so small and easy and I can take it off in a second when I need to open the bin up. I don’t care for the cluttered look underneath my desk but a girls gotta do what a girls gotta do right!? 😉
I’m really thankful this room has a nook space that perfectly fit my desk. It let’s me still feel like I’m “walking” into my office lol. When I moved in I knew I wanted a gallery wall. I love the look of them, and how you can let your personality shine through a bunch of prints. On the wall directly in front of me, I combined a combination of canvas prints, mirrors, bull horns, and printed pictures that I framed. The two bottom prints were actually custom designed that my mom and sister bought for me when they were in New York and I absolutely love them because it’s literally me in a print haha.
I had a hard time decorating the other two side walls for awhile. On the right side, I decided to just hang my monthly calendar, which I plan and write all blog collaboration dates on. This helped to hang so that I can look directly at what I’m working with in a certain month. It’s also gold and white so it looks cute with everything! On the left hand side I added a few smaller prints that I printed from WhiteWall.
WhiteWall is a professional photo lab that allows you to upload photos and print them on acrylic, metal, framed, and canvas prints. They have an option called Mini acrylic prints which are the ones I decided to get for my space. I love how small they are and it was the easiest process to upload some cute prints and quotes to add to my girly gallery wall. The acrylic is so sleek and looked great on my desk. They come with a stand, hanging hook, and magnetic back. This is what sold me because I did not want to have to go buy hooks or anything. I think these prints would look adorable on the little stands placed on your desk. But for me, I wanted them to complete my left wall. I love how they look and working with WhiteWall to complete my desk space was amazing and I’m so so happy with my little corner of happiness!
WhiteWall is giving AMS readers 10% off their purchase with code: AMS_WW_Mini until September 15th! 🙂
