Hi y’all! With Valentine’s tomorrow, I’m getting my outfit picked today and grabbing a few last minute little things for Josh. We have BIG plans of dinner and a movie tomorrow 😉 haha we are super easy and my favorite kind of date is dinner. Seriously, food is the way to my heart. Although I could do a dinner or movie date the rest of my life with him, it’s fun to change things up every once in awhile. I wanted to share some of our favorite little date ideas when we are in the mood for something different. Maybe try one of these for tomorrow or just at a different time with your guy. Of course, the opportunities vary from a small town to a large city depending on where you live. But coming from a big city like Dallas, to living in a smaller town like Lubbock, these 5 are pretty versatile.
1. A Picnic
I promise it’s not that cheesy. 🙂 I know in Dallas, Austin, and also Lubbock, there are a TON of parks. We love bringing our dog Marley with us so cooking at home and getting a blanket together, it’s really fun to change things up and go relax at a park (daytime of course) and enjoy a meal together
2. Drive in Movie
I know in Dallas, there is a really awesome drive-in theatre in Fort Worth but we have an even better one in Lubbock. This was one of Josh and I’s favorite date nights in the past. Â Our drive in here is super old time’y and really good food at the diner by it. It feels like you’re in the 50’s, seriously. It’s so fun and cute and I loved being able to sit in the car and watch a movie together.
3. Walk A Park or Trail And Dessert
Kind of like the Picnic, we have OK parks in Lubbock to walk, but when we are in Dallas or Austin our favorite things to do is go to Katy Trail or Zilker Park and walk/ exercise together. Josh isn’t a big sweets person but I AM 🙂 I can usually convince him to take me to a bakery after or go get ice cream and enjoy putting those calories back in me that I just burned off haha. It’s a fun date idea that you can do together that’s really enjoyable.
4. Live Performance/ Music
Whether this is a bar or restaurant, finding some live music and going to eat or drink can be a blast for a date night option. We have a couple fun places that offer live music here in Lubbock and it’s really fun to sit and listen and enjoy your time together.
5. Museum
We have something called an art trail here in Lubbock that I really want to try sometime, but I know there are lots of Museums in Dallas and other cities and it may sound boring but Museums are actually really intriguing and fun. Plan a night going to the Museum, and grabbing drinks after!
I’m starting a His and Her series… well, probably once a month I’ll be sharing looks of us both. And giving y’all Josh’s outfit details too.
