Last night, Josh and I took some photos, went to dinner, and went to this thing in Lubbock called ‘Santa Land.’ Although, it was completely for little kiddos, we still had fun. They had hot cocoa, a ton of little christmas trees, and murals of different children movies. I can’t wait to share the photos we took but I thought I would share my go-to winter look. I love to change up my makeup each season and I’ve changed quite a few products for this winter. So, let’s just get straight to the point shall we!?
Winter Makeup Tutorial 2016:
Base of the Face:
This season, I headed back to my trusty Laura Mercier Silk Creme Foundation. I typically don’t use a primer with this foundation because it’s stay power is incredible. This foundation works best in the winter with a thicker, creamier, flawless finish. A little bit goes a long way with this foundation as well! After, I still use my Naked Concealer, It’s my all time favorite for highlighting and covering, while it provides a light feel. Then, I go in with this Flower Translucent Powder (which is currently out of stock!) :(. Translucent powder is great to soak up and bake your cream/liquid face products. I let it sit on my skin for a little bit to set it. I then go in with my Advanced Radiance foundation powder to add a little more coverage to my cheeks and forehead area. (Also, I do my brows during this time! Tutorial here.)
Face Products:
Now, to shape the face…. I adore my Anastasia Contour Palette. I mix all three shades to shape my cheekbones, temples, and jaw line. Contouring does wonders for your face. Next, add in a darker blush and my favorite highlight… then voila!
Eyes:
Starting with eyeshadow, I’ve used an older Inglot palette a ton recently. I love the purple/brown shade for blending into my crease, then the two lighter champagne shades, one matte and one shiny, on my eyelid. I also drag the browner shade to my bottom lash line to create a more smoky effect. For eyelashes, I love a dramatic, voluminous look. This L’oreal Feline mascara is a lifesaver for adding volume and darkening my lashes just the way I like them.
Lips:
I mix two… yes two!!! I’ve recently used this Circa lipstick in shade ‘Audrey’ (obviously my fave!) and this L’oreal Paris lipstick in shade ‘Julianne’s Pink.’ I start with the Circa and add the L’oreal shade in the center of my lips and blend it out. It creates a dark lipstick shade with a smudge of light pink. The two play together beautifully!
