I have been compensated by Sundown Naturals® and Pollinate Media Group for this post as part of a social shopper marketing insight campaign with Pollinate Media Group® and Sundown Naturals® but all my opinions are my own. #pmedia #GoodnessGiveaway #sharethegoodness http://my-disclosur.es/OBstVHey y’all! So, we all know, I talked multiple times about it last semester, that I gained some weight my freshman year. Just about everyone does! Between the late night eating, and dorm food being only carbs, it’s hard to stay healthy. Over the summer I worked super hard to get that weight off and I’m SO happy to say I did. Now, I’m just working on keeping it off and staying healthy back at school.
1. Exercise
Soooooo….. duh! Everyone needs exercise to stay healthy and fit. I personally like to go to the gym. I prefer doing cardio and then 15 mins of arms, legs, and abs. I usually rotate machines each time I go! I like the treadmill but I personally feel like I get a better workout and sweat when I use the elliptical and put the settings to the highest! 2. Eating Healthy
Let me tell y’all….. I ate Mcdonalds with my girlfriends everyday my second semester of freshman year. GROSS. But, it was soo cheap and so good at the time! Haha. This year, I’m loving the fact I can cook. I have probably eaten out 4 times the last 3 months! I’m such a fan of cooking at home with different vegetables and trying out new recipes.
On a typical week to week basis I usually eat stir fry and rice, and light pasta with chicken. I will make double of each and put the rest in containers to eat throughout the week. This method works extremely well for me!
For my stir fry I mix together mushrooms, onions, squash, zucchini, and sometimes bell peppers. I put some greek seasoning on them, olive oil, and soy sauce. I make a huge batch of brown rice and voila! Low carb, healthy meal that is delicious!
To get my protein in, I make wheat pasta with olive oil and balsamic vinaigrette and cook about 6 pieces of chicken in olive oil… throw some greek and creole seasoning on it, and a little soy sauce because I’m obsessed with it and another healthy meal that will last a few days!
I’ve recently been making a huge crock pot of soup to eat as well. There are so many healthy Pinterest recipes! But, I do not believe in dieting! I think life is all about food honestly haha. Too many good foods and sweets out there to only eat veggies and fruit the rest of my life! I will generally splurge a couple times a week on cookies, or chocolate, or carbs! This is what works for me, just wanted to share 🙂
3. Take Care of Yourself
One thing I learned about staying healthy is to put your needs first. Some weeks I’m emotionally drained and have not slept at all and I can usually feel myself getting sick. It’s so important to remember to SLEEP around 8 hours each night and get your necessary vitamins in so that you aren’t coming down with a cold or something. I use the Sundown Naturals® Vitamins to make sure I’m getting my proper vitamins. Especially since they are free of gluten, dairy, and artificial flavors◊.
I love the gummies because they taste so good and aren’t dreadful to take. I really love the Biotin gummies to help my skin and hair look healthy and new throughout my weeks. I also use the Vitamin C gummies to help with my immune system. Immune Systems become crap in college with the late nights and constantly around other college students. I ALWAYS take these vitamins to make sure mine stays strong so I can stay in a happy mood. You can get these Vitamins too, at Walmart! They have a great selection. Find which gummies are right for you by taking this quiz. They also have a giveaway going on for you to enter and win some prizes: Enter the Goodness Giveaway Sweepstakes today!
