There’s nothing quite like a LWD for the summer… and this one was perfect for a day in Raleigh, North Carolina. I actually just got back home… I flew back to Dallas yesterday afternoon. I spent ALL day unpacking, re packing for my trip next week, packing up some clothes for my house I move into in August, and planning outfits to shoot tomorrow. Talk about BUSY and STRESSED. hah but all good things 😉
I spent a full week in North Carolina and I wanted to re-cap that a little bit on the blog. Keep scrolling to read that… but I wanted to quickly share one of my favorite simple outfits I wore during this trip. I love a good white dress and everyone needs an easy summer LWD. I had to wear a slip under this one but I stayed cool all day in the humidity.
Re-Cap:
Tuesday July 12th: This was the day I flew into North Carolina and one of my friends picked me up and we drove straight to Wrightsville Beach in Wilmington, NC. We went for dinner on the pier at this restaurant.
Wednesday July 13th: Our first full day on the beach!! We aimed to wake up around 9am and y’all…. between all the traveling and working, we slept through our alarms and woke up at 12:30pm. HA! Don’t remember the last time that’s happened. But we got a delicious lunch at our hotel and then hit the beach!!
Thursday July 14th: Woke up around 10am…. went for breakfast at our hotel and then rented some bikes! Haha I think my friend wanted to kill me for this but I really wanted to ride a bike around the small island and also take pics 😉 It was SO dreadfully hot and humid though we were dripping in sweat. So of course, we went right to the beach after that little workout. That night, we ended up going downtown Wilmington (which is ADORABLE) and went to dinner at the Little Dipper. It was so delicious.
Friday July 15th & July 16th: We drove back to Raleigh Friday and this day consisted of eating, sleeping, and a little more eating haha!! That was like our whole trip. Saturday went the same, just with running a few errands!
Sunday July 17th: The best day!!!! We woke up around 8am and drove to Chapel Hill, North Carolina (which is where I’m from) and ate brunch on Franklin Street and Four Eleven West. Their eggs benedict and Beignets are to die for. After, we actually drove by my old neighborhood an house. It was so neat to see but I was happy to realize that I wasn’t sad at all seeing that house. I absolutely love Texas and feel like Dallas is my true home. From there, we drove to Burlington, North Carolina where my grandma and a few other relatives live. It was so great to see everyone and re connect. To conclude our little day road trip…. we drove a little out to the country in Burlington to visit my closest cousin. I absolutely love her and her little family. I was able to meet her daughter and it was the perfect end to an amazing day.
Monday July 18th & Tuesday July 19th: We were so tired from Sunday that we slept and ate and ran some errands on Monday haha. Tuesday I woke up at 8:30am to catch a flight home!
I love simple trips that aren’t always filled with a huge list to do 24/7. Loved this week!
Thanks for reading, xx
