Happy Tuesday y’all!
I thought it was about time I shared my skincare routine… and with the cooler months getting close, skin becomes more important than ever.
I’ve grown up being taught by my mom that you should always take care of yourself and your skin. The younger you start taking care of it, the better it will look when you’re older. My skincare routine for my face is something I care about way too much, and I’m always on the hunt for better products.
With that being said, I haven’t always had the easiest time with my skin. I had really problematic skin from the beginning of my sophomore year to the end of my junior year. It started toning down my senior year, and now all my acne is gone (hallelujah) but I do still have scars that I try to disappear.
I cannot tell y’all how many creams, spot treatments, face washes, etc. that I have tried and gone through over the years. Nothing really worked for me for the longest time. But I realized that I was doing TOO much to my skin, and then I finally condensed my routine to a simpler version and stuck to it. That’s when I started to see results.
I have super sensitive skin… so any product I buy has to be gentle and effective. I seriously swear by the Cetaphil GENTLE skin face wash. It has never lead me wrong and it not only cleans your face, but takes off all of the left over makeup you know you have. I use this night and day.
Toners are one of my favorite things… I don’t know why.. But for some reason they’re so refreshing to me. I used Thayers Rose Petal toner for forever… and still do. But when I was in Europe over the summer I was able to get my hands on Bioderma. You can order this off of amazon and I suggest you do! Get the big bottle (It lasts a lifetime) and you will be in love. It’s super gentle and I love using it after a full day of makeup because no matter how many times I wash my face…. This toner STILL finds more to get off. It’s incredible and I’ve seen the hugest change in my skin since I started using it.
Last step, in my routine is moisturizer. I never used to see the importance of moisturizer… I always thought it was the reason I broke out so I would never use it. But your skin NEEDS moisture. Or else it will continue to produce extra oil to try and get that moisture and that only causes you to break out more. I suggest First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream moisturizer if you have the same problem. This one lasts forever and is so gentle but does the job. I like to use this one at night. For daytime, I loveeeeeeeee the Neutrogena Hydro Boost water gel. If you love the Clinique Gel Moisturizer, but want to find a cheaper option #collegebudget then this is your gal! It feels great, and doesn’t break me out!
And that’s my everyday skincare regime! Now, sometimes I add a few products to it…. like at night if I’m breaking out, I’ll add spot treatment. Once a week I use a facial scrub, and once a month I like to use Biore Pore Strips to detox my pores. I have all of the products I use on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis linked below so definitely check that out!
I hope y’all enjoyed this post and I’ll talk to y’all next week!
